Small town girl with big city dreams

Well I finally did it, I took on the Big Apple. Yes, I went to New York City, and it was everything I dreamed it would be. The endless stretch of city lights, the hustle and bustle of the city life and the exploration of it all has left me in awe and counting down the moments until I can go back. Until then, here’s a glimpse of the city from the 86th floor of the Empire State Building.

“I sometimes crave cities just as much as large expanses of land or forests or beaches. Each city has an energetic quality all its own- a way of speaking, an individual offering, and their own darkness and light. And as for me, sometimes my longing searches the whole world. I want to know these places. I want to feel their hidden corners and history. I want to seek things I’ve not known. And I want to find stories of struggle and victory and play and hope. I want to meet locals and views and museums. I want stories not yet told.” -Victoria Erickson

She liked the feeling of being anonymous in a big city. No one knew who she was so it was easier for her to remember who she is.

Wanderlust consumed her; foreign hearts and exotic minds compelled her. She had a gypsy soul and a vibrant hope for the unknown.

There comes a point in your life when you need to stop reading other people’s books and start writing your own stories.

Exploring New York was better than Christmas morning. I love how there was something new every corner and a different adventure to be found on every street. I will forever be in awe of the beauty of the endless stretch of city lights.

Taking on New York City with my mom was the best. There is no one I’d rather see the city and make memories that will last a lifetime with.

NYC, it’s been real. There’s nothing like seeing your skyline from the ESB. I’m completely in love with the way your lights glisten down every street and path. It was a real treat to experience you for the first time. See you again soon.
